Before creating mood boards for my made up chara ter I wrote a backstory for him to help me undertsand how I wanted him to look and be like. This helped me to understand how I could design and create his garment and make it true to him and this is what I came up with.
Klaus Daygrove is my character that I’ve created through the research of the men who would often occupy The Boars Head in order to design and construct for. I have written up a back story for him in order to give a better picture and understanding of my character.
My character is an ex royal Stuart, however he was exiled from England due to treason and now goes under the name of Klaus Degrove, no one really knew what he did or why he was exiled but there were rumours that speculated he stole from the king. He came back to England as a mysterious yet flamboyant character, he kept under the radar and spent most of his time drinking away his feelings. He was a troubled man yet very funny and got on with the likes of Falstaff and Bardolf. People would often say he had a charm to him and you’d catch him flirting with the women that came in and out of the pub. He took an unusual liking to Mistress Quickley and they would often be caught having a laugh by bar. He felt comfort in her warm personality but also liked the fiery side to her personality as he believed she was a very well rounded women. He dressed in very interesting garments some were from his time as a royal, however he often paired these garments with rough, dirty looking clothes which made him very mysterious as people couldn’t quite put their finger on where about he was from. He was a likeable man with a wit to him and although slightly reserved he always had something to say that would get people thinking. He was known as the knowledgeable one and people often went to him for help although must people knew little about him and that’s what excited them.
Once I had done this I looked at how I could use this story and description to create mood boards for my character.
