Biopic - Madonna

This Project was a Biopic set for a Television show. I chose to do a Biopic of Madonna and ultimately decided to remake her famous Express yourself cone Bra, originally designed by Jean Paul Guiltier. I employed many new skills such a laser cutting and leather work to construct a replication exact as possible to the original garments. To create this piece, I collected an in depth variety of research to make sure that it would be exact as possible. Therefore I looked into images of the original garment to understand the fabrics and textures as well as examining the many performances Madonna did wearing this costume to look into aspects like her hair and makeup, shoes and accessories. I created an assortment of seven costumes, five of which were costumes or outfits that she has already worn and two of which I designed myself. One was based on Madonna’s personal style during the 1990’s and one was of her ex-husband Sean Penn, based on his personal style during the time they were married. I did the final designs using Acrylic, collage and ink and then put them into a line-up on Photoshop to display them as an ensemble.
